Product Description
MOO-Slick Silicone Lubricant and Protectant
The one you reach for first.
MOO-Slick Silicone Dry Lubricant and Protectant is the Swiss Army knife of the CowRC chemical lineup, doing double duty as both a protectant and a lubricant, genuinely trusted across the hobby whether you're racing, crawling, bashing, or just keeping a collection looking sharp.
As a protectant, this is the very first step in the CowRC cleaning routine, applied before you even get dirty. Hold the can 8–12 inches away and apply a light, even coat, the goal is a fine dust of silicone settling evenly across everything, not a wet or lathered surface. Under good light, you should see that dust land on every part you're covering. If it's getting wet, lathering, or starting to drip and pool, that's too much product, wasting silicone without doing the job any better. For that first application, being thorough doesn't mean spraying heavier, it means doing that same light dust technique twice in a row, a few minutes apart, to build a proper base coat.
From there it dries to a beautiful matte finish, clean and non-tacky, so mud, dust, and grime have a much harder time sticking in the first place. Used this way, letting it fully cure isn't optional, that cure is what activates its protective barrier. Doing this properly can cut your actual cleaning time, and how much cleaner you need, by half or more. And because it holds up against routine, non-corrosive cleaning with MOO-Kleen Part and Chassis Wash, most of that first coat sticks around, so every reapplication after that first one needs meaningfully less product. Just note, a corrosive cleaner like MOO-Kleen Cleaner and Degreaser, or heavy scrubbing, will strip it away.
As a lubricant, MOO-Slick Silicone stops friction and stiction, that hobby term for parts sticking when they shouldn't, on suspension components, hinge pins, ball cups, pillow balls, and other exposed moving assemblies. Here the cure timeline works differently, it's fully functional immediately, no waiting required, but letting it go the full 12–24 hours meaningfully boosts adhesion and lifespan, and once cured it holds up against both oil and water. For pinpoint lubricant application, an optional applicator nozzle and tube are available at checkout. One racing-specific trick: a coat on the chassis can reduce sliding friction without attracting dirt the way oil does, and a coat on dry tires before a muddy race can help keep tread from packing with mud.
Because it's not just how you start the routine, it's how you finish it too.
Some tips from the team:
- The silicone itself is safe on the vast majority of RC surfaces, but it rides out of the can along with propellants and evaporants that quickly dissipate, it's those first brief seconds before they're fully gone where a little extra care is worth taking.
- For Lexan bodies, spray onto a clean cloth first and wipe it on instead of spraying directly.
- Never spray directly onto electronics. Spraying onto a rag first and wiping the casing is a safe way to apply it there too.
