When old lubricants, moisture, and contaminants start dragging down performance, MOO-Kleen Cleaner and Degreaser is the one built to strip it all away fast. A thin, fast-evaporating formula, engineered specifically for RC, that cuts through grease, oil, dirt, and moisture in tight tolerances like metal-shielded bearings, while staying meaningfully safer on plastics, polymers, seals, and electronics than typical out-of-industry cleaners and degreasers.

At minimum, a serious RC maintenance routine needs two kinds of cleaner. A non-corrosive cleaner for everyday washing that never touches the lubricants and protectants already doing their job, and a corrosive degreaser for full breakdowns and rebuilds, when those same lubricants and oils need to be stripped away entirely. Many cleaners and degreasers, in this industry and beyond, dump their entire can in under a minute if you hold the trigger down. This one doesn't, because it doesn't need to. Cleaner and Degreaser's dump rate runs roughly a half to a third the speed of typical aerosols, giving you real control without sacrificing the force needed to break down heavy grease and grime. And unlike many smaller cans on the market that quietly list their full can fill, propellant and evaporants included, CowRC's stated thirteen ounces of usable product means exactly what it says.

For most jobs, the restricted-flow tube is the better choice here, not just for the smaller amount of product it releases, but because that same product exits with significantly more force, enough to help physically push through heavy, caked-on grease and grime while the formula itself breaks it down chemically.

This isn't a low-VOC or non-corrosive product, but compared to most similarly-purposed cleaners from outside the RC industry, whether automotive, household, or general electronics, it's significantly gentler, lower in VOCs, and far less corrosive, meaning a real safety improvement for the plastics, polymers, and sensitive components RC vehicles are built from. It's also considerably less noxious. While we'd never officially recommend using it indoors, it's mild enough that most people do, without needing to evacuate the room the way you would with a typical automotive brake cleaner or electronics degreaser.

On a flat, open surface, Cleaner and Degreaser evaporates fast, typically fifteen to twenty seconds, and airflow from something like a Jet Blaster or canned air drastically speeds that up further, cutting it down to mere seconds. But that clock resets anywhere the product pools or collects without much surface area exposed to air, inside a bearing race, a cup, or an enclosed housing. In those spots, it's critical to give it real time to fully evaporate, or a shot of air, before reconnecting power or applying fresh lubricant on top, skip that step and you risk locking in moisture or lubricating right over cleaner that hasn't finished evaporating yet.

Before cleaning any electronics, whether that's ESCs (electronic speed controls), receivers, BECs (battery elimination circuits), gyros, and more, including motors, brushed or brushless, power down and fully disconnect from the battery first. And when it comes to motors specifically, don't forget they contain bearings or bushings too. It's easy to clean a motor and reconnect it without ever thinking about relubrication, but that bearing or bushing needs the same care as any other on the vehicle.

Cleaning bearings with Cleaner and Degreaser doesn't call for a bearing shaker, solvent bath, or ultrasonic cleaner, though plenty of people still use those methods. There's no shaker to set up, fill, or clean out afterward, no ultrasonic to run or maintain, no liquid to mix or dispose of. All you really need is a clean paper towel. Lay the bearings down, give each a light hit, it doesn't take much, and once it's running clean, give it proper time to fully evaporate before relubricating. It's a genuinely quicker, more efficient use of your time and effort than any of those other methods, and thanks to the formula's thinness, a more thorough result too, working its way through tight tolerances like a metal-shielded bearing race to strip it clean and dry without ever needing to open it up.

Cleaner and Degreaser also doubles as an exceptionally powerful water displacement agent. As it evaporates, it actively pulls water out along with it, which makes it a genuine rescue option in two specific situations. On a metal part prone to rusting that wasn't protected with Silicone Spray beforehand, a heavy, generous application can go a long way toward preventing rust from setting in, and in this specific situation, more is better than less, not enough won't get the job done, but too much just gives you extra insurance that you've accomplished what you set out to do. You'll still need to go back and relubricate afterward, but the rust risk itself is significantly reduced.

If non-waterproof electronics get exposed to water and fail as a result, no smoke, no visibly burnt or melted components, just simply stopped working, that same water-displacing action makes Cleaner and Degreaser a genuine rescue option. It works on the same basic principle as the classic trick of sealing a water-damaged phone in a bag of rice, pulling moisture out of the components to give them a real shot at recovery, just at a drastically accelerated pace. Disconnect immediately, then clean thoroughly, and it's recovered electronics many hobbyists believed were already lost. It's not a guaranteed fix, and it only works with prompt action right after exposure, not electronics that have already sat waterlogged for a while, but it's a genuinely common outcome, and worth knowing before you assume the worst.

Cleaner and Degreaser is also an excellent surface prep tool anywhere something needs to properly stick, decals, vinyls, sKinz, servo tape, battery tape, and more. Compared to something like denatured alcohol, it delivers a genuinely deeper, pore-level clean rather than a surface-level wipe, giving adhesives real material to bond to. That same pore-level clean is exactly why it's so effective when gluing tires, stripping the mold-release agents left behind during manufacturing out of the rubber's pores, not just off the surface, for a bond that goes deeper than a typical surface-level glue-up. One exception worth knowing: some of the more exotic, highly porous tire compounds are porous enough that the formula can actually dwell down in those pores rather than evaporating quickly off the surface. With tires like that, give it real time to fully evaporate before gluing, rushing that step on an especially porous compound means the glue-up won't perform the way you're expecting.

Because it evaporates rather than curing, Cleaner and Degreaser leaves no residue behind of its own. If you notice any streaking or residue after it's fully evaporated, that's a sign the original grease, oil, or contaminant wasn't fully stripped from that area to begin with, not something the product itself deposited.

If you're working on parts that contain or utilize seals, O-rings, or other rubber components, remove them first before cleaning around them. Cleaner and Degreaser is built to strip away lubricant fast, and those components deserve to be protected rather than exposed to it.
