SLOW-CURE is Bob Smith Industries' 30-minute epoxy, an equal two-part system that forms a high-strength bond through a chemical reaction between resin and hardener. It's the strongest epoxy in the BSI lineup, and the only one that's genuinely waterproof, along with better heat resistance than the faster-curing options.
It should be applied in temperatures above 70 degrees Fahrenheit, and it holds its strength well across both the coldest and hottest ends of the BSI epoxy line's temperature range. It also penetrates porous surfaces better than the others, giving it a real edge for bonding strength on materials that soak it in.
SLOW-CURE is the go-to choice for forming reinforcing fillets on joints, and it can be mixed with microballoons or other fillers to build a putty-like consistency, though fillers like this will typically shorten the working time by about 25 percent.
For the best bond, work on clean, textured surfaces, smooth or non-porous surfaces should be roughened with coarse sandpaper first. If you need to clean up uncured epoxy, acetone or isopropyl rubbing alcohol are the solvents that work best.
If you're willing to wait overnight, SLOW-CURE forms a genuinely superior bond. Bonded objects can be handled after about 8 hours, with full strength reached within 24 hours. Once cured, it's resistant to most chemicals.

The 4.5oz is sized for occasional repairs and single projects. The 9oz is the better value if you work with epoxy regularly.
