MID-CURE 15-Minute Epoxy
More time to get it right.
MID-CURE is Bob Smith Industries' 15-minute epoxy, an equal two-part system that forms a high-strength bond through a chemical reaction between resin and hardener. It's built for larger areas where you need more working time than QUIK-CURE provides, giving you about 10 minutes of open working time before adhesion begins around the 15-minute mark.
It's the most flexible epoxy in the BSI lineup, and that flexibility gives it superior bonding qualities on combinations like hardwood to fiberglass, along with real durability in high-vibration or high-stress spots where a more brittle epoxy would crack. It's also more water-resistant than QUIK-CURE, making it a solid substitute in most applications, including situations where some water exposure is a factor.
MID-CURE should be applied in temperatures above 65 degrees Fahrenheit. For the best bond, work on clean, textured surfaces, smooth or non-porous surfaces should be roughened with coarse sandpaper first. If you need to clean up uncured epoxy, acetone or isopropyl rubbing alcohol are the solvents that work best.
Allow about 45 minutes before handling bonded parts, with full strength reached around the 2-hour mark, and full cure completing somewhere in the 2 to 3 hour range. Once cured, it's resistant to most chemicals.
Works well on:
Balsa wood, soft wood, glass and metal, hard plastics, rubber, white foam, laminating, water-resistant applications, and reinforcing.
Available in two sizes
The 4.5oz is sized for occasional repairs and single projects. The 9oz is the better value if you work with epoxy regularly.
