Every CowRC mat traces back to a standard we set for this hobby in 2008. That first Work Mat introduced the fully magnetic surface the rest of the industry still borrows from today. A year later the Flat Mat answered a different need, something lower profile that could roll up and travel. A couple of years after that the hobby asked for something else entirely, a way to organize and expand on the setup those mats had already built. That's where Parts Trays and Strips came in.

Parts Trays and Strips share the same foundation as our Work Mats, the strongest ProMag magnetic sheeting available paired with a die-cut foam pallet construction. What changes is the intention. Instead of a full working surface, each one is built and sized purely as an organizer, made to hold screws, hardware, and small parts exactly where you leave them.

That same reversed magnetic sheeting construction runs through every piece in the lineup. A matte white vinyl surface sits over the stronger side of the sheeting, cutting glare and resisting stains, so every part stands out the moment it lands.

Every Parts Tray and Strip needs to be stored flat, never rolled or folded, to protect the magnetic sheeting. Smaller sizes tuck easily into a bag or pit box despite that, while the larger strips take up more space and deserve the same careful handling as any full-size mat. Either way, keep the foam away from anything sharp or heavy enough to gouge or crush it in transit.

Parts Trays and Strips are built to work alongside your existing setup. Pair a compact size with a Flat Mat for something easy to travel with, or add one to either side, or both sides, of any pit mat to expand your hardware organization at home or in the shop. Beyond the added function, laying a Parts Tray or Strip next to your mat just makes for a more aesthetically pleasing, finished-looking setup. And while they shine as an add-on, every size holds its own as a standalone parts tray too.

Typical magnetic trays borrowed from the automotive world are built for raw pulling power, not for organizing small parts. That extra strength tends to clump everything into one stubborn pile in the center, fighting you every time you try to pick a part back up. CowRC's magnetism is tuned specifically for RC use, holding parts securely right where they land, without working against you when you're organizing or reaching for what you need. Set a Parts Tray or Strip down anywhere on another pit mat's magnetic surface and it locks in place there too, easy to reposition whenever you want, held steady whenever you don't.

Some tips from the team:

• Wipe the magnetic sheeting surface down with Part and Chassis Wash or Hide Wipes, both work well here. In a pinch, soap and water or another vinyl-safe, non-corrosive cleaner applied with a rag can do the job too. Corrosive cleaners will strip the stain-resistant coating over time.
• Carbon fiber dust lifts off with a damp dab, don't wipe it dry, that can cause discoloration. Metal filings scratch the vinyl, lift them with lightly-dabbed masking tape instead of wiping. Loctite will stain the surface, and tires or traction additives can leave a stain if left sitting, wipe those up right away.
• Never use a knife or razor blade on the surface, and keep heat guns or soldering irons off the surface directly. Extreme heat can bubble the vinyl.
• Keep GPS-equipped aircraft, helicopters, quadcopters, drones, or similar powered off while within range of a Parts Tray or Strip. The magnetic field can cause the GPS to misread its position at power-on and attempt to self-correct, a real safety risk with spinning blades nearby.
• Keep spinning wheels clear of the magnetic surface. Contact can leave skid marks.
