From seconds to instant.
CA sets fast on its own, but INSTA-SET makes it faster and stronger. It's a catalyst that accelerates cyanoacrylate's cure by enhancing the alkaline conditions CA relies on to polymerize, letting even thick layers cure solid in about six to eight seconds, all without degrading the CA's ultimate strength, something plenty of other accelerators can't say.
The classic use is curing the CA that naturally flows out of a joint once parts are pressed together, a quick spray locks that squeeze-out in place instantly. For real reinforcement, apply an extra bead of thick CA along the seam and outside corners of a joint, then hit it with another pass of INSTA-SET, a simple technique that meaningfully strengthens the bond.
For materials that are naturally difficult to bond, apply INSTA-SET to one surface and CA to the other, then bring the two together, they'll bond instantly on contact. It's compatible with every surface we've tested it on, including clear plastic and all foams.
It's also a genuinely handy cleaning agent in its own right, useful for lifting adhesive residue and scuff marks even outside of any gluing project. One formulation note worth mentioning, it's finished with a light strawberry scent, though it should still be stored separately from your CAs regardless.
Some tips from the team:
- If you're bonding tires, never spray INSTA-SET directly onto the glue, direct contact will turn it white. Instead, spray it into a separate container and set that container over the tire, letting the fumes cure the glue evenly without discoloring it.
- Store INSTA-SET away from your CA bottles, keeping them separate avoids any accidental cross-contact between the two.
