Product Description
Insta-Cure Super Thin Cyanoacrylate
Thin enough to disappear into the joint.
Insta-Cure is Bob Smith Industries' water-thin CA, formulated to wick deep into tight-fitting joints by capillary action and cure in just a few seconds. Because it depends on a snug fit to work its way in, surfaces need to be held tightly together, sometimes with masking tape, while you run a bead of Insta-Cure along the seam. It penetrates into balsa wood especially well, forming a bond that goes beyond the surface rather than just sitting on top of it. As with any CA, cured Insta-Cure gives off a vapor that can irritate the nose and eyes, so apply it in a ventilated space.
Bonding occurs in 1 to 3 seconds, with full strength reached in two hours. Cured CA holds up across a temperature range of -40 to 220°F. If any excess cures onto a surface like ceramics, it can be removed by rubbing with a paper towel soaked in Un-Cure. For finer applications, use the included extender tip, and soak it in acetone when it's time to clean.
A couple tips from the team: Wipe the nozzle clean and cap the bottle tightly after every use, a clogged or dried-out tip is the easiest way to lose a bottle before it's actually empty. And keep the bottle refrigerated when it's not in use, CA has a much shorter shelf life at room temperature, so that habit alone can add months of usable life to a bottle.
Works best on:
Balsa wood, ceramics.
Works good on:
Soft wood, fiberglass, hard plastics, water-resistant applications, CA hinges.
Available in three sizes
The .5oz bottle is sized for occasional repairs and single projects. The 1oz bottle is a solid middle ground for regular use. The 2oz bottle is the better value if you go through CA often.
